Introduction
In order to maintain a high level of productivity in our organisations we must find productive methods of planning work and tasks, setting appropriate goals and managing time and schedules with our workers.
This course is designed to provide you with basic skills to help you manage your time better and manage your scheduling activities in the workplace. You will need to apply self-discipline until the techniques become part of your skills set, but the process is not too difficult to learn.
Planning establishes what, how, where and in what order work will be performed. The process involves the selection of work sequence and methods and provides information for the scheduling process.
A work plan is an outline of a set of goals and processes by which a team can accomplish those goals and shows the scope of the project. Through work plans, you break down a process/job tasks into small, achievable tasks and identify the things you want to accomplish.
Scheduling determines the timing and specific sequence of tasks necessary to carry out the plan. The schedule is a result of the planning process and reflects the selected plan. The schedule shows who will do what and when in order to carry out the plan.
